Aims
  • To facilitate student comprehension of the essential role strategic planning plays in maximizing organizational performance.
  • To identify the most important techniques of strategic planning and encourage their practical applications in real world environments.
  • To provide graduates with the tools and efficacies to (a) develop a strategic plan or project and (b) continually assess and monitor plan results with expected outcomes.
 Target Group
  • Top management: General Managers, General Directors, Project Managers, and Branch Managers from organizations in both the private and public sectors.
  • Middle Management: Supervisors, Departmental and Divisional Heads, and aspiring Project Managers from organizations in both the private and public sectors.
Program overview
The course consists of seven units that focus on the following:
  • Conceptualization of Strategies and Goals
  • Methods of Strategic Planning
  • Identification of Short-term goals vs. Long-term goals.
  • Techniques for Creating a Strategic Plan.
  • Tactical Planning.
  • Modern Methods of Strategic Planning : SWOT Analysis (Internal and External Environments).
  • Practical exercises and training in how to develop a strategic plan.
Program duration
5 weeks. Approximately 10 study hours per week for a total of about 50 study hours.
Assessment methods
In order to complete the course successfully you will be required to submit one short essay (c.1000 words) and achieve an overall pass grade.
Certification

To be awarded the certificate you must satisfactorily complete all written contributions. Successful students will receive a Certificate, awarded by the Board of Studies of AIES Department for Continuing Education. A transcript detailing the course will be issued to successful students.
